We are able to work with an array of unions with a total combined membership of over 1.8 million workers.
What started 18 years ago as a response to the HIV health needs of workers has grown into a programme that understands the need for holistic solutions to drivers of HIV infection. This includes meaningful interventions that prevent its spread by enabling different facets of individual and community wellbeing.
SWHP exists to put the power of wellbeing within the reach of vulnerable communities. We believe that the spread of HIV will only be halted through a comprehensive approach that seeks to address the drivers of the disease, such as poverty, GBV ( Gender Based Violence ) and lack of accessible skills development. In addition it is vital to implement evidence-based biomedical prevention and treatment measures and ensure their uptake through effective community mobilisation.
It is only through programmes that seek to ignite and protect each individual’s holistic wellbeing that we will truly change the life course of the disadvantaged and vulnerable. We have the experience, credible track record, skills and capacity to keep converting our vision into a real impact.
